Video Matters | Life Lived Branding | Lincoln

Did you know that 54% of consumers want to see more video content from the brands they like ?

I think we can all agree that the rise of the like of TikTok and the priority given on Instagram to reels has made video much more prominent.

Indeed, I know I personally enjoy watching videos to learn things – I’m a visual learner and looking at a drawing, or reading instructions in a book doesn’t quite teach me what I need to know. And it seems that the general public agrees with me!

How can you use this to your (business) advantage?

Here are a few ideas to get you started:

  1. Behind the Scenes

Showing potential clients and followers what you do, and how you work will always be of interest. They want to know how their product is made, or how you manage to complete the tasks they have hired you for, or just how you interact with others when you offer your services. These can quickly be turned into reels and reused on multiple social media platforms. You can tuck your phone in a corner and have it record what you are doing, or you can invest in a proper holder so you can take videos from above and from all angles.

  • Make a Slideshow

If you don’t have a lot of video content, that’s ok – you can still make something with the pictures you already have – turn them into a slideshow and add music and a voiceover to share what you want to say. Bonus: they get to hear your voice!

  • Talk to your People

Yes, that’s right – get in front of the camera and tell your audience something, anything! People want to know you and see your face, hear your voice and see what you are doing. Share some tips, show them the nice view while you take your dog for a walk, tell them the latest news. Go live. These are the kind of videos that get the most interaction at the moment.

  • Get Testimonials

Ask your clients to record a quick video testimonial and send it to you – share it on your website, in your newsletters, and on all your socials. Seeing someone actually say those words, increases the level of authenticity – after all, if you just write them, you could have written the review yourself, right? (there is a lot of doubt out there right now people!) I will confess I haven’t actually done this myself, but it is something I want to try!

  • Have a Branding Film done Professionally

I bet you’ve been waiting for this one, haven’t you? I mean, how can I talk about videos and not offer my services (shameless pitch alert!)? Having a professional Branding Film done is possibly one of the best investments you can make for your business. We have already seen how important video is nowadays, but amateur videos can only go so far. Sometimes you need to present a curated version of you and your business, and that’s when you need a professional. These videos are high quality and can be used for more than just social media.
